English is often perceived as “easy“ in comparison to other languages: no complicated verb forms, no grammatical genera, no difficult grammar in general. Although its vocabulary is large due to its Germanic and Romanic origins, native speakers can recognize a lot of familiar English words of both speaking areas. However, distinctions must be made: the access to English is easier to be sure, but if one has to speak or write on an advanced level or to be fluent in discussions in the workplace, it takes greater effort.
