Welcome to the International Preparatory and Language Center (ISSK)

The International Preparatory and Language Center is a central institution of Johannes Gutenberg University. Since October 10, 2012 it exists in form of a fusion of the formerly separate central institutions Language Center and Preparatory College.

The functions of the ISSK are:

Courses in preparation of the assessment test (“Festellungsprüfung”)
Courses in preparation of the German language test for admission to university (“Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang“ – DSH)
Foreign language courses for students and employees
German courses along with the studies
German courses for refugees
